The Workshop will be held in the CNR Research Area inside the Polo Scientifico Universitario, a few kilometres northwest of Florence, near the Vespucci airport and the A1 and A11 motorways exits.

From the motorway, take “Firenze Nord” exit, continue in the direction of Florence [Firenze] (A11), getting off on “Sesto Fiorentino” exit. Continue towards Sesto Fiorentino by crossing it on Via dell’Osmannoro and follow the directions to the “Polo Scientifico”. The CNR is located within the complex of red-brick buildings at the end of the Polo area.

The bus stop is in front of the "Area di Ricerca".

A single ticket fare is € 1.20 (onborad ticket € 2.00).

From the most important Italian cities you can reach by train the train station Santa Maria Novella or the train station Rifredi.

Once you are arrived at the train station you can catch the train, get off at the train station Rifredi (first stop), catch the bus number 59 and get off at the bus stop Sesto Fiorentino Polveriera (CN Research Area).

In alternative, you can get off at the railway station, Zambra, which is located on the Firenze-Prato-Pistoia line. From there you can walk to the Area di Ricerca in about 15 minutes. Exit the station using the subway on the Sesto Fiorentino (North) side and turn left down the stairs. Proceed straight ahead in Via Neruda. Once crossed the second roundabout move left a few steps and turn right into Via dei Giunchi. After crossing a small bridge you will be able to see the Research Area buildings on your left. Move forward up to the crossroad and turn left into Via Madonna del Piano to reach the entrance.

To the city centre:

From the airport you can easily reach the city centre and the train station Santa Maria Novella thanks to a shuttle bus that leaves every 30 minutes from 6 am up to 11.30 pm.

To CNR Research Area:

The airport is about 5 km far from the Conference location. You can easily reach CNR Research Area by taxi.

Other well-connected airports are the Airport Galileo Galilei of Pisa (120 km), the Airport Marconi of Bologna (130 km) and the Airport Leonardo da Vinci of Rome (280 km).
